GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDANCE
(See Bylaws, Article 1, Section IV)
All Members are strongly encouraged to attend 12 meetings a year.
a. Year-Round Active Members are required to attend a minimum of eight meetings per year. After five absences in a calendar year, a Year-Round Active Member is deemed to have resigned unless such Member is granted an exception or is accepted into another membership category, in accordance with provisions of Article 1, Section V or VI, or is granted a leave of absence.
b. Seasonal Active Members are required to attend a minimum of five meetings per year. After eight absences in a calendar year, a Seasonal Active Member is deemed to have resigned unless such Member is granted an exception or is accepted into another membership category, in accordance with provisions of Article 1, Section V or VI, or is granted a leave of absence.
c. Associate Members are required to attend a minimum of two meetings a year. After eleven absences, an Associate Member is deemed to have resigned unless such Member is granted an exception or a leave of absence.
If a member has circumstances that make it difficult to satisfy her meeting requirements, she should discuss her situation with the Membership Chair as soon as the problem becomes evident, should continue to attend as many meetings as possible, and apply for an exception if necessary near the end of the calendar year. If the situation is ongoing, such as illness of herself or a family member, she should consider applying for a leave of absence. A member who is granted a leave of absence will be responsible for her dues.
RSVP: Year-Round Active and Seasonal Active members shall provide by e-mail or telephone advanced notice of an absence to the membership chair and the coordinating hostess. Associate members should notify the membership chair and coordinating hostess only when they are planning to attend a meeting.
