Conservation/Land Stewards
Co-chairs: Melanie Mauldin, Martha Dupuis
 Sally Caffrey, Pam Drummond, Kitty Moore, Ruthie Oliver, Susan Trotter
Serves as the Land Stewards committee which works with other likeminded
groups, including Highlands Biological Station, the Highlands-Cashiers Land
Trust, the Town of Highlands, the Highlands Historical Society, the Highlands
Plateau Audubon Society, and the Highlands Plateau Greenway to promote
responsible land stewardship, protect the native plant species, and educate the
community. Land Stewards is a partner with the Coalition for Non Invasive
Plant Management. CNIPM holds educational workshops for professionals as
well as the public.
Informs the club monthly with an oral report.

Dahlia Festival Entry for 2025
Designer: Trish Foor. Chair: Sally Caffrey
Cain Haley, Adele Scielzo, Kim Daugherty
Designs and makes the club’s entry for the festival.

Field Trip
Chairs: Adele Scielzo, Cathy Temple, Ruthie Oliver
Determines if there is interest in a field trip and with enough interest plans the
trip.

Grant Fundraising Project for 2025
Chair: Cindy Trevathan
Sandy Barrow, Pat Buchanan, Libby Eustis, Mary Guy Gunn, Paula McDonald, Kyle Roberts, Delores
Rosebrock, Jane Webb
Plans and recommends the fundraising project for 2025 that will fund the
club’s grants.

Grants
Chair: Gina Cogswell; Co-chair: Pegsie Payne
Price Connor, Cathy Crosby, Linda Edwards, Cain Haley
Reviews applications for grants and makes recommendations to the club.

Historian/Scrapbook
Chairs: Carol Avinger, Lynn Winship
Keeps club scrapbook, photographs, newspaper articles, and other important
records including meeting minutes.

Horticulture/Gardening
Chair:  Dollie Swanson
Lisa Dailey, Libby Eustis, Betsy Hehn, Lyniece Talmage, Jodie Zahner
Stimulates the fine art of gardening and encourages civic beauty through horti-
culture and gardening. Informs the club monthly with an oral report.

Hospitality
 Co-chairs: Linda Carter, Trish Foor
Ann Flynn, Adele Scielzo, DeeDee Thompson
Arranges meeting locations in collaboration with the Program Committee at
suitable locations. Enlists hosts for meetings and reminds them each month in
a timely manner.

Programs
Chairs:  Ruth Claiborne, Michael Burel
Plans programs for meetings throughout the year. Reminds speakers of meet-
ing dates and plans for replacement programs when necessary. Introduces the
speakers at the meetings.

Publicity
Chairs: Pat Archambault, Kim Daugherty
Responsible for public relations and communication with the press. Informs
the Highlands community about the club’s grants, activities and programs.

Webmaster
Chairs: Cindy Trevathan, Trish Foor
Manages Laurel Garden Club website.

Laurel Garden Club’s website provides general access to the club’s history, its
programs, special events and other information. It is password protected for
access to members-only information, including the current yearbook.

Yearbook
Chairs: Florence Holmes, Trish Foor, Jane Webb
Organizes and provides Laurel Garden Club’s Yearbook information to an out-
side editor and printer. Does necessary proofreading, correcting and updating
information published in yearbook.
